SUNNY.

I saw a friend's post today morning on facebook complaining about the cold and rainy weather in Brussels. Poor thing! I'm really lucky as here in Budapest the sunny days have finally arrived! We have a long weekend ahead of us with pretty promising temperature (almost 30 degrees on Sunday) and lots of sun!
With the warm weather downtown Budapest turns into a mini festival scene, the open air places become crowded and nothing is nicer than sip on an ice cold pink rose spritzer on a terrace after a hard day at work.
And I do have some hard days at the office this week so to beat the higher tension and pressure, I'm riding my bike every day and I'm always wearing something that cheers me up. Haha, I fight the stress with vintage clothes!
These flower print trousers are the comfiest ones ever, the fabric is super soft, it actually feels like wearing nothing!

This is what I'm wearing: vintage flower print trousers, Divided top, lace socks, Asos flats & sunglasses.

I'm off to the office early this morning as I have way too much things to do but I promise I'll be back with pretty surprises this weekend!

Happy sunny day!

POLKA DOT DRESS.

Ladies, I'm so in love with the new spring and summer dresses in the garderobe, I cannot wait to show all of them to you! It's always hard to let all these pretty dresses go, but now I'm getting sort of used to it, especially when receiving lovely feedback on how happy you are with your new treasures!
But this dress, I'm still not sure if I will ever be able to say goodbye to it. The light, cotton fabric and the lovely polka dot print makes it the perfect spring dress. Not to mention the adorable collar and the 3 front buttons.
I paired it with my new Marni for H&M heels. I really loved how the wood and deep green leather of the sandals matched the dress.
I hope you'll love the outfit too!

THE AZTEC PRINT.

Hey ladies, as promised earlier today, here is today's outfit post, a brief one, as I'm literally braindead, sorry. I've been very busy with many different things lately and I'm so happy that many pretty vintage dresses have found new owners already! Tomorrow the garderobe will be open for a few hours in the early evening, I'm really excited about the whole gig. The dresses are all clean and ironed, waiting for you on the standers, it will be pretty hard to say goodbye to some of them!
Here is one of my favourite ones, the aztec print dress. I love the colours and the shape of the dress so much! I really felt Coachella inspired this morning so I paired it with white crochet socks and my brown leather flats. I cannot wait for the festival season to begin!
Have a good night ladies, hope to see some of you tomorrow! <3

MAXI DRESS.

This season I'm in LOVE with maxi dresses. I haven't really worn maxi skirts or dresses in the past few years and with this growing obsession about vintage clothes, I've rediscovered them.
They make you look tall and feminine and this particular dress on the photo is making a lovely whizzing sound while walk. Isn't is pretty?
I wore it for a special occasion (I cannot really complain, there are many these days), we had a press conference for one of our TV channels (my real workplace) and I paired it with a vintage fur coat and my wedges but I hid the heels under the skirt so at the end of the day everyone thought I was very tall.
I told you, maxi skirts/dresses are awesome;)

Now, I have 3 bags of new arrivals to clean & iron, have a nice evening ladies <3

THE YSL SILKINESS.

WOW. In capitals. Not only the nanushka SS12 & FW12-23 fashion show was a bliss but it has also been announced that some real, bald, badly dressed and serious investor guys finally see potential in a fashion brand and nanushka gets real money. It's a turning point, not only in the brand's life but with this capital injection the first Hungarian fashion brand may carve its way to international success.

The show was a big success, the clothes were chic & comfy as always and Hungarian supermodel, Reka Ebergenyi made the investor guys' first fashion show unforgettable with her perfect breasts peeping under translucent tops.
After the announcement the audience gazed with hope & happy faces, it's really a big time for a small country like us. I wish nanushka the very best to take the whole business to a next level. Check out the SS12 collection for lovely, warm colour, savannah style outfits.

It was an extraordinary night as you see so I couldn't resist to wear something very special. Picking something nanushka would have been too obvious so I finally decided to go for something very classy.
Ladies, let me introduce you one of the most precious items of the garderobe, the YSL silky velvet dress.
It's a vintage 2-piece set and it has the softest and silkiest fabric I have ever touched.
I paired it with a lovely vintage fur jacket and my Mimco bag.

Hope you're happy about the happy news, too!

THE SKIRT DRESS.

With my growing love for vintage clothes, I've become a dress lady. It's funny how rarely I wear jeans or trousers these days, my garderobe is flooded with dresses and skirts. Someone said jeans are the perfect outfit for the lazy ones, ohho, I have to seriously disagree. A nice dress is the simplest outfit of all, you have the top and the bottom, nothing to mix or match, you just need a few pretty accessories to cheer it up and pair of lovely heels or comfy flats. When I'm late or having a morning nervous breakdown in front of the mirror, I'm always picking a pretty dress. Now clearly seeing this undeniable competitive advantage of them, I have many, the elegant ones, the romantic ones, the cool&edgy ones, the simple ones, the glamfunsequinpuffsleeves ones, surely one to fit my changing mood and the weather each and every day.
Today I went for this lovely vintage shirt dress, I love the blue shades and the checked print, the comfy cotton fabric and the front buttons. I wore it with vintage lace shoes, a neon orange belt from divided and an old camera necklace I found at the bottom of my jewellery box.
Go ladies, wear dresses!
I'm off to soak in the bath, I need to recharge my batteries.
Have a lovely night!

WHAT I HAVE BEEN UP TO.

Hey ladies, sorry for the relatively silent week but I have been enormously busy at work dealing with a rebrand project so after working late hours I tried to solely focus on recharging batteries and I didn't really wanna force myself to post on the blog if I hadn't felt the urge to do so. But I did do some fun things, here are some snapshots of my life lately. I promise to post dozens of new outfit photos next week. I have to as I have plenty of new items in the graderobe to show off.
Have a great weekend ladies!!!

UP FOR LIKES!

Hey, ladies!

I know this is a blog where I write about all the silly things happening to me and from time to time I share pretty or not-so-pretty outfit photos of my vintage treasures but at the end of the day I'm really dreaming of turning this little hobby of mine into something more meaningful.

Now, after 2 days of shooting the spring and summer dresses of the garderobe I started pondering over the chance of finally being able to sell any of them. I know dressing into vintage clothes is still in an early phase in my country, Budapest is still nowhere compared to London or Berlin but gosh, I would really love to prove that recycling all these lovely rags into your garderobe is fun! It's so easy to pull the granny chic off!

I truly hope that you will find this blog an autentic source for that, it became some kind of mission of mine to show how simple it is to give these flamboyant pieces a modern, urban edge.

So to finally be able to take all this to another level, my dear readers, I will heavily be relying on your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments and tips, I would love to see what you think.

And if you haven't done it yet and you're up for daily updates and interesting bits, please like my Facebook page. I'll make sure your efforts are rewarded;).

Here is a sneak peak on what's being soon available for sale.
The polka dot dress is a vintage Oscar de la Renta and the leather jacket is from Italy, probably from the early '80s.

Have a lovely day, I'm off to Prague this afternoon!

PHOTOSHOOT.

Ladies, I'm so excited! It's bank holiday here so we can profit from a 4-day long-weekend and yay! I finally have time to take pictures of all the S/S 12 vintage dresses that cannot wait to finally be all yours! Yes, it's official, the 'Shop My Style' section of the blog is launching very very soon!
It was a marvellous day starting with a giant latte & almond croissant in the sunshin, then doing all the preparations for the photoshoot, I wish you saw the piles of beautiful dresses all over the bedroom & living room and the pretty pairs of sandals all lined up, waiting for their picks!
My lovely friend, Barika did all her best to make the photos aspirational, I really really hope that you will love them as much as I do. And the happy news is: all the dresses, skirtson the photos are finally for sale!
Will keep you posted on the details and the official lunch date!
Now, after such a well accomplished day it's time to curl up with Lulu on the couch and do a fave series marathon as my lovely BF is out of town.

BONJOUR LES FILLES!

I remember how I instantly fell in love with the French language. It was high school, I was 15, not really excited about the whole French as a second language thing at all and then she walked in, Fanny (with y), the new French teacher. She was not only the most extravagant woman in the whole teachers' board but the way she spoke French made me fall in love with the whole culture at once! Long story short, I learned the language, won a competition and my first trip to Paris, fell in love with a French guy, even spent a summer in a wineyard in Bordeaux. I admire French women, I totally love Paris, my biggest regret is not being a parisienne, myself. To counterbalance that I read French novels in orginal, Morbier, Tomme de Savoie and Comte are the most welcome in my fridge and from time to time I feel like dressing up as if I was one of them, les filles parisiennes.

In this very French mood of mine, this is what I'm wearing today:
Vintage knitted gilet, striped top from divided, vintage Levi's shorts and boots.
And the official soundtrack for today is 'La cigarette' from Mélanie Pain. Enjoy!

Bonne journée, les filles!
bisous,
k

CAN I STILL BE CHIC WHEN I'M SICK?

Hey, ladies, I got this terrible flu and I've been grounded for the whole weekend. Yep, I lay sick in front of a SATC marathon drinking hot tea and that's all. The last thing I did and is worth mentioning was last Thursday when I went to an exhibition opening. Ív & Candie is an amazing and very inspiring photographer duo, Trash-Kitsch-Hunters, according to them. Check out their blog for some true one-of-a-kind-shots and if you have time, visit the exhibition @ Liget gallery. I was a proud pug mom, seeing Lulu up on the wall, thanks so much, Ív & Candie:)!
This is what I was wearing: a retro print vintage dress, a small black hat from divided and my asos wedges.

Since then only flannel pyjamas, soft scarves around my neck, wollen knitted socks. Being sick sucks.
I remember my friend, Anna doing a lovely chic-sick mix'n match set on polyvore.com. I wish I could find it to show it to you, it was so cute! Anna, if you read this post and you can track that back, please do and share:)!

WEARING THE JC LANAS.

If you asked me which shoes I've been craving the most last year, the answer would be so easy! The Jeffrey Campbell Litas! Perfectly designed platform heels totally revamping any outfit they are accompanying! When I bumped into the irresistable black friday sales on solestruck.com back in November, a true dream came true (cheesy, I know), a pair of gorgeous JC Lanas landed in my virtual basket. Then I had the accident and the Siberian weather, so the girls had to wait in their lovely box for weeks, but today I could officially show them off! Yepp, ladies, let me introduce you my beloved Lanas.
Hope you'll love the first mixnmatch they inspired, I couldn't resist to pair them with this quirky, sunny yellow!
Spring is here soon, ladies, long live the JC and his incredible shoes!

This is what I'm wearing: Mickey Mouse tee - Urban Outfitters, denim pencil skirt & fur coat - vintage, JC Lanas.
